    Might as well let the Government have the money if so much of the ISA tax break is going to be swallowed by the ISA manager's admin costs.

    That's what I do: use III for my S&S and HL for funds.
    There are no inactivity fees on III: I've never looked into their fund charges.

    Initial charges for funds on iii are usually discounted, up to 100% for some, but more commonly 80%, with an average initial charge of around 1%. Depends entirely on what funds you want to buy - then just go compare.

    One reason why many of my investment trusts are outside an ISA. With no income and capital gain under £10k it is far cheaper to keep outside ISA.
    Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.
