My husband and I are really struggling at the moment.
He works full-time and earns 19k. I am a full-time mum.
We get £59 a week child tax credit, and £20 a week child benefit.
But we are really struggling now. We have a loan from my dad which we pay back at £200 a month. We can't decrease this as it was a bank loan and my dad can't afford to take any of that payment either. Our mortgage is £640 a month.
I am unable to work due to SPD and a back injury. However I cannot claim disability benefits - I was rejected twice, because I can walk 20m reasonably, and I have no-one caring for me.
We do not want to put our daughter into nursery (she was premature and has GERD, so needs full time care, another reason I don't work)
so is there any other benefit out there we can claim to help? If we sell our house we'll never get back on the property ladder as it was hard enough in the first place!

Does your child have care needs beyond those of an 'average' child of her age?Gone ... or have I?0

By disability benefits do you mean Disability Living Allowance or Employment Support Allowance?0

Work out your SOA and post it on the debt'free wannabe board - you'll get lots of practical help there.0

Unfortunately benefits cannot take into account the fact that you have debts to pay.0

Download the budget planner on the free tools section on the right hand side of the MSE page on the free tools section. Detail all your household expenses and income and work through the site to identify where you can maximimise income and reduce expenses, such as tariffs and bills, and tips on how to be ultra frugal.
Unfortunately your financial commitments mean that you are left with around £480 per month for the three of you to live on after your mortgage and debt, so by the time council tax is paid, probably around £350 per month to cover all your food and household bills.
This site is popular with people wanting to feed their family cheap and nutritious meals for under £100 per month.

Actually a 19k salary should provide take home pay of 1250 and then there should be approx 340 per month in benefits on top according to the OP. Therefore after mortgage and loan there should be about £750 per month to cover everything else.0

Struggling to see the problem if there's 750 left after mortgage and loan, to be honest.0
