i have been in a dmp with cccs since may, and it has unloaded a lot of pressure. Before i was with cccs i was with a company who kept a large amount of my payment for themselves, so it was taking longer to pay off my debts.
If you call cccs they will take a few details, and arrange for someone to call you back to go through everything with you.
Before your telephone appt, you will get a pack in the post explaning different ways of dealing with debt etc and a form for you to fill in detailing everything you spend money on, even little things you wouldnt think to put on ie car tax, hair cuts, and they even have to allow a certain amount for hobbies and going out etc. The counsellor will then give you realistic options for you over the phone which will give you chance to ask Qs etc, they will send everything to you in the post for you to look at before deciding to go ahead with any of their plans or not. The best thing is it is all free and you can call them or look on their site for help etc.
They took over dealing with my debts, made an offer to creditors which was accepted, i pay by DD every month and thats it. If I get a letter or something from creditors etc i just call Cccs and let them know. If your circumstances change either for the better or the worse call them and they will help you out.
I did reduce my mortgage to interest only for a while to use the extra to get my debts paid off quicker, then I will put it back to repayment, is that something you could do for a while?
good luck, there is light at the end of the tunnel it just takes a while to get there!!Look atfer the Pennies and the ££££'s will care for themselves :money:0 -
