The initial question regarding who can go on a course - this varies depending on the Police Authority involved. Some don't even run such courses. You can always ask and say you need your car for work (although apparently this is no longer allowed as a legitimate reason for any leeway!). It really depends on the speed and the Police involved in the case.

Well peeps, the answer ( in Lancashire, at least) is that you are ivited to spend £85 and attend a course without the points.

I'll take that option as I like my clean license.
