Home made bean bags?

I'm looking to make my own bean bag as the prices for adult sized ones are too much for my liking!

I'm not sure where to get the polystyrene balls though, any ideas?

Thank you

Check in your local market. Not sure where you're based but we have a couple of large fabric warehouse type places here and you can pick them up from there too.

I've quite a few times seen people offering old bean bags on freecycle or the bean bag balls from an old burst beanbag!
I think I might have seen them in Dunelm as well.

Dunelm mill I'm pretty sure have them (check on their website) or possibly Hobbycraft. I think our local market has a crafty bits stall that sells them as well. Failing that you could always snag a couple of cheapo kids ones and butcher them from somewhere like Poundstretcher/Home Bargains or the like?

I've seen them fairly cheaply online- google should give you a good few suppliers.

I made my own bean bag but I had to get rid of it because the tomato sauce kept soaking into the cover.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

6 cubic ft should be plenty for a large adult size.
    :)
  • I made one years ago. Just make sure that when you start sewing you have the hoover ready as the beans go everywhere. Also, it might be a good idea to sew an inner bag and an outer bag. I bought a second hand quilt cover from a charity shop gave it a good wash and then sewed the beans into this. I then made a really nice outer cover with a zip which could then be removed and washed easily.

If you get really stuck buying the beans from somewhere someone on ebay will sell them.
