I keep forgetting to use coupons when I go shopping

When I go shopping I always seem to forget to use any coupons I've collected. You know the ones you get for the store loyalty cards where you get extra points, that sort of thing. I usually keep them in my diary and forget to take them with me when I go shopping. How do you remember to use them? I got some coupons from Boots yesterday and I was tearing them off the sheet and wondering how I could remind myself I've got them.I was thinking of maybe putting them in an envelope and carrying them around in the handbag, but will this cause more confusion? I wish I could be super organised and know when I was going to use these coupons, but I'm not, I usually get to the checkout and remember that I've got a coupon in the house where I can get 200 extra points for spending over £20 and its so annoying

Hi Bulchy
I was the same until I come up with this idea, I put all my coupons straight away into my credit card wallet which is a leather travel card holder, as I always pay for the weekly shopping on my card they are there in the wallet waiting to be handed over at the check out.
I always of course act stupid and just pass over the wodge and say are any of these any good, its always suprising how many they will take. Then every once in a while I look through them and discard those that are out of date.
If you are a cash person I guess this would work if you just put the coupons straight away into your purse.
Hope this helps

I always keep mine in my purse, sometimes still forget to use them but usually it works.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0

I write my shopping list on an envelope and pop the coupons and anything else I need inside so I CANNOT forget to use them - works every time for me0

Hi, thanks for all the replies :T got me thinking now.....
My purse isnt very big, as I dont carry a lot of cash, but we have got some credit card wallets lying around the house, I'll start using one of these, also writing the shopping list on an envelope and putting the coupons inside is another great idea, think I might use this one for my christmas related coupons, and write my list of presents on the envelope, brilliant idea, thanks :T

All money we 'save' by using vouchers goes into our 'holiday fund', (along with any extras like lottery wins, birthday money and £2 coins I save etc). So far this year it's reached £500+ - so I'm motivated, and I keep the vouchers in my purse for easy of access.
Before I did this, we were always throwing them away, out of date0 -
I usually keep any coupons I plan to use beside my credit cards. This usually reminds me at the till point as I am about to pay.0

Wow, some excellent ideas. I'm always forgetting to take my coupons too so I will certainly try those suggestions.0

I always have grand schemes to help me remember coupons but I'm still too scatterbrained to get it right! The worst bit is when you make a special journey to a shop to spend their coupons then realise you've forgotten them0

LOL I do that all the time.0
