My mother is 87 and has a number of credit cards of which my wife and I are 2nd card holders.
When she unfortunately passes away will her debts die with her or will the card companies chase my wife and I for repayment, assuming that she does not leave sufficient to pay off the cards.

They all say that they will take the steps required under law to obtain payment. They all also say that the main card holder is responsibkle for all debts incurred by the 2nd card holder. It would appear therefore that upon the death of the 1st card holder the card becomes invalid and the balance due would be taken from the estate of that card holder assuming that they had sufficient estate to pay it. What happens if they don't? There is no mention in the terms and conditions of the 2nd holder being responsible for any of the debt.0
