Hi guys, I am wondering if anyone can advise me how I can connect my MacBook Pro to my tv so that I can play Itunes out of the speakers.
My Ipod dock is not the loudest and could do with something a bit louder really!

The easiest way to listen to music from your macbook would be to get a cable which goes from a 3.5mm stereo jack (for the macbook end) to whatever Line In your stereo has. The video cable for macbook to TV does NOT carry audio signal - so even if you did connect it to your TV, you'd have no sound.Throwing acid is bad.... in some peoples eyes...0

You need to buy a dongle. Plenty of info on Google.....:(:(

MacBook Pro - you don't say which one, but if it has a mini displayport then it DOES carry audio, but you'll need to buy a mini displayport to HDMI adaptor, and they're not the cheapest things at the minute.
That's for picture and sound, but if it's only sound you're after you just need a cable with a headphone connector at one end for the laptop and either stereo phono (red and white plugs) or headphone connector at the other to plug into whatever you want to get sound out of.
You probably plug the phonos into the front AV sockets on the TV and switch the tv to that input.
Same cable will work for your iPod or anything that has an headphone socket.0
