I used to work alternate weeks doing 6am - 2pm, then 2pm - 10pm, and loved the hours! On early shifts, it meant I could use the afternoons to go shopping or swimming or enjoy the quiet at home, and the late shifts meant a lie-in if I felt tired! I also had the early finish on fridays which was wonderful!

    I'd say go for it!

Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
  • I used to hate doing lates as I never got to see my wife and you spend all morning waiting to go to work.
Nothing to see here, move along.

S/he'll only be working in the evening around 9 shifts a month, and never a Friday or Saturday night.

One doesn't have to get drunk every friday/saturday night to have a social life.

  • Worked a variety of shifts at times and I have to say I found a 6-2 fine. If you like the late night telly, 5am starts can be a bit rough, but no traffic etc.

2-10 is a bit different, but not all that bad although I found myself having 2 dinners! :rotfl:

I also did a 4am-midday start once. That was bizarre. By the time customers were coming in thick and fast I was exiting shift over.

You have to do what is right for you, if your not a morning person etc.

If it were me, only doing a morning shift and finishing early would be heaven.

Where did one refer to getting gazebo'd? Many social occasions are scheduled on Friday or Saturday night.

One will not work a late shift for around 21 of 30 days of the month, so should the worker wish to partake in merriment there is opportunity. :D
