Selling a camcorder - postage advice please

Am listing a camcorder that I anticipate will sell at around the £80 mark.

What is the best way to send this to ensure that it is fully insured and will arrive in one piece.

I was considering special delivery, but wondering if there are any better options?

Any pointers greatly appreciated. Don't often sell on ebay and never anything fragile.

  • Send it by Special Devlivery, its the best options and cheaper then the others. Plus if the person is not in, alll they have to do is to go down to the Post Office to get it, rather then ringing DHL for example and having to take a day off. Hope this helps :)

Yes Special Delivery is the only way to save hassle. I just use the large SD mailing sack (can get one from your local PO) and losts of bubble wrap and never had a problem.

    Me again.

My packaged camcorder comes to around 2.2kg. Which looking at next day SD puts it into the heaviest very expensive category.

My plan is to send it as 2 separate parcels, ie just under 2kg and another 200g ish one. Is that ok?? If I'm understanding the pricing ok, it would appear to be much cheaper that way. Can anyone see any pitfalls with doing that?

No seems sensible, only other thing to consider would be a courier which might work out cheaper.
