No idea if I have put this in the right place, but I need to work out my hourly rate. I work for a one man band and worked 4 hours overtime yesterday.
Earn £27K a year and work 35 hours a week. Plus, should it be time and a half for overtime or not. Not sure how to approach him over this.

Does your contract give any guidance?
As a rule of thumb, for salaried staff: work out the number of days a year you work (ie 365 - weekends - Bank Holidays - Holiday entitlement). Divide anual salary by that to get a daily rate. Work out you daily hours (37hr/5 days). Divide daily rate by daily hours to get your hourly rate. Then apply the time & 1/2 rate & bob's your uncle.0
