My final visit today and bought:

Thorntons Classics chocs £6 for only £1.
2 boxes Thorntons toffee £3 each for only £1.
Pyjamas £6 for only £1 (70% off, reduced from £20).

No problems at all at Eldon Square, really helpful assistants.

Good luck to all still spending, I noticed the Mrs Bridges stuff is diminishing fast.

I haven't seen any Mrs Bridges stuff in my store sadly. However some of the children's clothes are now on sale - didn't have any problems using a voucher with sale items.

The only way you could use a voucher twice would be if the SA couldn't get your code to work and input the discount some other way. Some of the other posters have reported such experiences, but I don't think they're common. If you've bought something from Debenhams using the voucher, the last 4 digits or so of the code will be on your receipt if the code was used properly.

The voucher code is like a giftcard - once the credit is gone, it's gone.

I was just surprised as there are a lot of people with whats seems to be multiple vouchers.

  • Hi,

Sadly I tried to get the voucher but Debenhams said I'd already requested one (which I hadn't). I did apply from a gmail address but just got a sorry email. Any way I can complain?

Tara, what colour are the reduced Christy towels?

White, and they're gorgeous!!! They have some different colours too - blue, grey and the burgundy/cream spotty ones IIRC, but I love white and cream towels! They're so clean and fluffy looking :)

    HTH.

I noticed that too, was so tempted by the biscuit tin at £3 (with 20% off and voucher) but there are other things I want more... and it is absolutely huge!!!

p.s. yaaaaaaay, managed to persuade OH to text for another code from his old phone and it worked! Just need to change his name to DEBENHAMS in my contacts - I'll probably forget to change it back and will then have a heart attack when I see 'DEBENHAMS calling' in the display in a couple of days' time lol! :rotfl:

  • Hi Tara747 (and others!!),

It seems you have the same illness I have! I just can't stop trying to find a way to get more codes!

Anyway, do you reckon the email vouchers that were cancelled were actually cancelled? I say this not only because I have some left!! But also because the email saying they had been cancelled only states that the email they sent it to has been cancelled:
"the unique voucher code that has been issued to this email address has been cancelled and will not be accepted for redemption in store."

Perhaps then the others from gmail will work, just not the one they spotted and sent an email to?

    Does that all make sense?

Does anyone dare to try a voucher that could have been cancelled? I might be up for the challenge but can't make it into Debs until Fri when it ends!
    Any takers?

    SG x

I sent one to my brothers university email address and it wont let him print it off as it says it might be a virus, i think its the uni security, he can see the unique number so would he be able to just take that into the shop and would it still work?

    Thanks

LOL - happened to me! I thought, OMG they've caught up with me! :rotfl:

Managed to use my texts in a different store today after being turned down the other day.
Used 3 but had great trouble, none of the SA's had seen one before and all had to call supervisors. They all made sure I deleted the text incase I tried to use it again :p
Got 2 really cute jars of Mrs Bridges sweets (humbugs and strawberry bonbons) £3.50 each but 20% off so 60p to pay :D Never seen the Mrs Bridges range before, it's lovely, got my eye on the tea cup and biscuits.

Am currently clearing out drawers in the hope I'll find some old sims!
  • Does anybody know what Debenham's return policy is on bracelets (Buckingham to be precise). I bought one for my mum but she doesn't seem too fond of it so I was wondering if I could change it.. surely it doesn't have any hygiene issues :S

Used to work at Allders/Debs on a concession and our policy was to exchange or refund jewellery dependant on proof of purchase except for earrings as you rightly say, this is for hygeine reasons.
However, I would advise that you use the term 'unsuitable' as your reason for returning the item as this will more than likely be accepted. It is also worth remembering that if the concession is unmanned i.e no sales staff employed by Buckingham, you stand a better chance. Although there is no reason why you can't ask for a refund at amother till and hope that the staff haven't been trained to refer you to the concession lol. Best of luck anyway.
