in walsall today was told if it didnt scan then they would not put it through, head office had recieved an email by the woman downstairs, it diodnt matter that i had just put through thirty five pounds worth of chrimbo presents for dh, i had a bar code voucher, needless to say i didnt buy the chrimbo presents so debenhams has lost out on £30 cash for not letting me have £5 off lol, wish i managed to go there earlie in week when first recieved it :mad:

Went to Banbury (Oxon) store today with my Mum, we had 6 vouchers between us (genuine email addresses,vouchers for hubby and my dad too):

1st voucher - no problem,£5.00 spend,keyed it in,very nice.
2nd voucher -snooty woman, £8 spend, keyed it in but not happy even though I actually spent £3
3rd voucher - same snooty woman with Mum, couldn't get the number to key in (she was doing it wrong as it was one of the first vouchers so had extra digits before the 63...)-told mum it wasn't genuine.
4th voucher -£5.50 spend, lovely lady,very friendly and chatty, asked if I could use my hubbys voucher at the same time to save hubby coming in (was holding onto something for mum while she was having probs with 3rd voucher) - she said no problem so used 5th voucher.
Mum then came over so asked her if she could have a look at it to see what the problem was - no problem so 3rd voucher used.
6th voucher - £5 spend,no problems.

Thanks again to OP for this, we didn't get anything we didn't want just for the sake of using it.

(then went back to voucher 1 lady and used the £5 off £25 spend from the Mirror to pay for the rest of my shopping!)

Went today with my one voucher picked up a pack of 3 baby sleepsuits marked at £10, when I got to the till they were actually £8 so with the £5 off they came out at £3.

Very pleased with my purchase - thanks to the OP

Haha! Yes, you right, in hindsight "chavey" would be pronounced "chay-vee". I toyed with the idea of chavy and chavvy but it looked odd without the "e".

I used 7 vouchers in the Hounslow store... I was lucky enough to have a nice sales lady and she did 7 seperate transactions for all my items saving me £35 so that I only paid £7 on items that would have otherwise cost £42. The best way to take advantage of this deal is to stick to products that are £5 or near abouts .... I paid £1 per transaction saving £5 each time. A great days shopping
