So far today I've
WM x 3
TD x 1
Clothes draped around rads
Dusted half of LR
Half sorted a drawer
Emptied all bins and taken rubbish out
Not a lot else I don't think - doesn't seem a lot seeing as it's halfway through the day but my head is starting to feel as if it belongs to me again so maybe I'll get more done this afternoon. Better get dressed first though really especially as DS wants his friend over.NST #10 Steps 7K 2/30 10K 2/12 5 a day 3/30 NSD 0/20

Morning all.
Fireplace scrubbed and stained dark oak. Fingers stained dark oak.
Paint in one room touched up, and fireplace painted inside until I ran out of left-over paint.
Dry cleaner called and Never buy Next curtains!!!! the first time they are dry cleaned (the label says "Dry Clean") the lining has come apart. Apparently they do this as they use adhesive to bind the layers of lining together and the dry cleaning fluid dissolves it.
He gave them a go as they looked in good nick (they were) but it has happened. Apparently the dry cleaners he works for has taken Next to court over it as the label shouldn't really say "dry clean".
Cheap and nasty, well, not so cheap except they were in the sale. Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -

I've painted half of Ds2's room and it looks like it's going to need at least 1 more coat after this one. We've also had lunch and i've made a golden syrup microwave cake. I'm just waiting for Dsd2's friend to come and pick up my wellies for Dsd2 to borrow then i'm going to load the dw again and get back to the painting.:cool:0 -

We had a sofa with washable covers from Next - first time we washed them they faded like anything. They send a specialiast out to look at them and we got a free replacement set - we were saving them until the kids got bigger as the same thing would happen if we washed them but as the cats sleep on that sofa we are still saving them:o;)
DS2 room done. Off to hoover DS3 room and make a pile of stuff for him to sort. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Hi all; running a little late today; I put my skirt on this morning, got Mr LW to help me tie the ribbon-type belt - and the bloomin' thing fell apart! So I had to find another skirt, and I've spent a good part of the morning repairing it.
Some of today's jobs will wait til later in any case, as I have the BM on the go as I type, so the table's occupied, and I need to make cheese straws, so it's silly to do all the tops down and then put flour everywhere.;)
I may leave the extras today - those that apply to me have been done recently in any case (see Toots, I'm being a good girl and not being profligate with my spoons).:D
Piggers I hope your Sis is OK.
Tooch how are you doing today mate?
Msgnomey it sounds unpleasant for you - take it easy, and bug the doc if you need to.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

I suppose if they put 40C wash and something went wrong Next would have to cough up. If they put dry clean the buck would more often than not stop with the dry cleaners.
Dry cleaning fluid is vicious so many many glues are resins just won't stand up to it. How strong are you feeling? You could take this right back to Next to sort if it's deemed not the dry cleaners fault.

I also have to say that the dry cleaner has probably not taken NExt to court under false labelling. This is a massive thing to say and unfortunately drycleaners say anything to not pay out compensation. It may well have been their fault. If it is, go to Next with what they've said, they may even fight the dc company for you.
A decent dry cleaning company who knew his company have taken Next to court over the issue would never have cleaned them. I think you've been fobbed off by the dc company. Did they refund you your dry cleaning costs.. at least?0 -
