Windows Live upgrade problem

After failing to hide this recent update I installed it. Now when trying to start a video or audio call in windows live messenger I get the following message.
Your call wasn't connected. Please try again or leave a video message. (Error: 0x8ac70907)
I have looked on the Internet and there seem to be a number of other people with the same issue, but I can't find a solution. I'm tempted to system restore but on looking there is a warning that the previous version of messenger may not work and have to be reinstalled - I assume that the previous version is not available. Does anyone have a solution to the problem or has anyone succesfully done a system restore on this update? (Using Windows7 64bit)

the restore might be your only option; what about a SR and then remove WL and then reinstall? or perhaps even remove WL first, do the restore and then reinstall WL. If this is a know MS problem, they might actually issue a fix soon enough. I had the same problem last August with Messenger.0

....and MS issued a patch/fix .0
