Princess_Cinderella wrote:i love 2 make christmas cards for people but my liitle sister does not like traditional crads she prefers funny or modern ones without many words. these are expensive 2 buy and i always wish i could make hers by hand like everyone elses so this year i have come up with a good idea:beer: even if i do say so myself:rotfl: .
she loves the playboy bunny so i searched the internet and found a really good outline picture i then printed it out and then traced the design onto tracing paper i then photocopied the image but increased the image to the size i wanted i have then used it as a template to draw around onto white card i then made a santa's hat out of felt and attached a little pom pom :T then it was a case of mounting this onto the card. it has turned out so well i am in the process of making a dr who 1 for a friend.
this has made a really unique card that i hope she will love at a fraction of the cost of a shop bought 1. i am sure this can be done with other character cards that are always so expensive.:T
Love the idea:p Any ideas for a 3d Dr Who xmas card, I'd love to make 1 each for my DS's. I made a playboy card a few years ago, I took the picture off a presentation box from a watch I had and added a pink diamante for the eye and sold it at a bootsale:D0 -
Some good ideas. I went and got a few bits and pieces for card making and it costs a fortune. Cheaper to buy them. I got loads for a quid a pack in the jan sales. Thought I would make a few for closest mates and family, make up for not getting much in the pressie stakes.

How about a dark blue card to represent space, google an image of the tardis to stick on, add some silver stars and a big moon. Find a silhouette image of santa's sleigh to stick across the moon. If you use 3d foam pads to stick the tardis and sleigh that would look quite good.
Alternatively, a dalek in a santa hat!0 -

You could find an image on google of the tardis or something specific from dr who that they like. then copy and paste the image into a word document, then copy the image a number of times so that you can cut out various elements to build up into a decoupage card. then you can print the design out on paper or thin card so that the image is rigid. this can then be cut out and built up. you could then get some dark card to mount it on and make it into a gate fold card (pm me for an advice if needed) stick the tardis on one side so that you can open up the tardis to see inside the card then inside you could stick various other images downloaded from the internet such as the dr imself which you could then add a santa hat 2 .:D i hope this helps0 -

Go to staples or cheap places like £land Instore for card stock and buy a pack of printing paper and make your own envelops and cards much cheaper than buying the packs
If you dont fancy doing that look on http://www.createandcraft.com/csp/isd/craft/index2.csp they sometimes have the huge packs of cards (200 +envelopes) for about a tenner but I find making them from scratch much more fun because you can make them any design you like thenIf you look anything like your passport photo....Your too ill to travel0 -
