Payday Loan Problems

jan 2009 i had the same situation with paydayuk. I contacted them on several occasions and they didn't listen my situation, i kept getting voicemails and letters, I then chose to ignore thes letters...I then received a letter from the collections department from paydayuk (which is exactly what i was waiting for!), i then contacted the collections department and they set me up with a repayment plan and froze the interest. I don't recommend you ignore the letters like i did though, if you have not received a letter from their collections department then i would recommend that you ask to speak to the 'litigation' deparment. I found that whenever i rang to speak to collections department, the person always on the end of the phone just happened to be in the collections department, and low and behold when you start talking about contract law etc etc they put you through to collections!!!! so to save the hassle, i then used to always ask for litigations (it sounds a bit scary to the people who answer the phone so it always got me put through!)0

I once defaulted on a payday loan. I took it out thinking it would help me, it sure didnt. It took me 3months to clear the balance but all they did was ring my mobile around five times a day. Didnt ring my work place.
Simple thing to do is come to an arrangement with them to pay off the balance (something you can easily afford, dont let them bully you into payments you cant afford) and if they keep ringing just answer it and leave it on the table until they hang up. They soon get the message. Or you can write to them asking them only to contact you in writing.
Also I set up a bog standard bank account to pay them from, so say if you agreed to pay £20 per month and their was only £20 in the account, they couldnt take anymore than u stated.0 -
Dear all,
I am trying to gather information for a case study for a national newspaper on pay day loan companies & consumer debt.
If you would be willing to be named in the paper and have a quick snap taken, please can you call me on 07940 474 007 and leave a message. I will call you back ASAP.
You must have had direct experience of debt and a pay day loan. It would be better if these problems have since been resolved.
Many thanks in advance for your time.0 -

i am having mega problems with payday uk !!!!
I phoned and cleared my account, they said the payment didn't go thru when it was clearly showing on my on line banking that the payment was made and to the precise amount i was due them, i even sent them a screen shot of my account !! They would not even accept the authorization code from the bank and insisted they were still going to take the previously arranged payment out the bank (which would leave me overdrawn and charged) the following day as they could not find the payment i had made !!!!
Does anyone know if there is an ombudsman for these rip off merchants ???? Oh and they called my work !!!!0 -
