hmmm.... not really great to use a forum to advertise another one is it?
Quick mover I see- considering you posted in your own forum 10 minutes before your thread started, stating you were thinking about starting up a site.....
and surprise, surprise- its advertising another loan company.

As for the site, it looks OK, but I'm just not sure how it can help any more than the various other debt help forums there are, including this one.
Thanks for taking the time to have a quick look, as i say it was a very quick first attempt at building a website and if there was a demand i would paid for a domain name.
The main reason for the idea of a website purely for payday loans, was from previous experience of trawling the web looking for a site where people have the same problems, this is a great site and i use it all the time but sometimes i find that the advice relating to payday loans is a bit all over the place and if there had been a site where people could share the experience of how different lenders have reacted to payment plans and contact numbers which mean you actually get to speak to someone in collections rather than the general "we want our money give it to us now" main number.
I have heard of many horror stories of people being told by payday lenders that people will be coming to their house to collect payment and that they will contact their employers and take money directly out of their wages. if people could discuss this and share experiences and ultimately point people in the direction of payplan and cccs if needed then would it be such a bad thing?
I am not looking to make a profit from the site and as i say it is a reaction to the troubles i have had and currently are having with payday loans.

I had been thinking about setting up a site for about two months, as i said i have no experience of doing so, last night i decided to look into it and started to put together the basic site, i added to the forum to see if it was working. And it is not advertising quickquid, that is my true experience of using them and how they agreed to a payment plan without defaulting on the loan.
I am not trying to advertise another forum within a forum, i love mse and have been viewing it and using various ideas for a year or so.
As you will see my site is a very basic attempt and is purely aimed at people having problems with payday loans, i'm not sure if you have any experience of them.....
From my own experience they can be terrifying once you realise you can no longer pay the minimum roll over fee, and you only have until the end of the month to find the money to repay in full unlike other types of lending.
Asking for peoples views who have had difficulties with payday loans was an attempt to gauge the level of interest as maintaining the site would cost me both time and money which would be pointless if no one felt there was a need.
Thanks for your feedback as any comments will be helpful.

For a blog page it is an excellent resource and I hope it offers you an outlay for your experiences.
In terms of an advice page, at the minimum it is near-empty in terms of assistance and advice, and at most it is damaging. Apologies for being harsh, however I don't understand what service it is meant to offer. I appreciate you are not looking to make a profit, however can you explain to me the purpose of the function of your site, and then how you are going to achieve that purpose.
This site is well developed and has an unbelievable depth of information; personally I cannot see the point in trying to duplicate it elsewhere.
Koloko,
Thanks for taking the time to have a look, i agree it is pretty much empty (i have no computer experience and it was my first attempt yesterday plus it seems pointless to spend my time and efforts on something if everyone feels there is no need for such a resource) it may just end up as a blog for my own experience's and teach me something about website development, but as you will see in the posts above i am not trying to replicate this site in anyway. i am purely trying to put together a site which can support and offer peoples personal experiences of payday loans. My experience with them has been that there is relatively few posts on this sites or others where people tell there story of what happens once they default or of any payment plans they have been successful in arranging.
Payday loans in my experience have been terrifying to deal with and can place huge pressure on an individual especially if you have more than one loan, or like me 10!!! Any stories of peoples success of dealing with these would have really helped my when i was at my lowest point.
Sorry to ramble on, but like i said if no body feels there is a need for such a site i will remove my initial attempt, i was just trying to get a feel for peoples opinions.

As I said before, you posted on your forum 10 minutes BEFORE you posted the above.Paul_london wrote: »Good evening,
I am considering putting together a website myself although i have no experience just as a place for people to offer advice on payday loans would there be much demand for this? Any help or pointers in the direction of a site which caters for this type of problems please let me know.

After paying them for 4 months they decided to refer me to Mackenzie Hall who I now pay the same amount to.
They are bizzare, they have no understanding beyond the " pay us now", "you must pay us now", "we have tried to take money from your account and it was refused" (thats because its closed as I told you time and time again), "pay us now".
You can try talking to them if you want but be prepared for your bank account to be cleared out, they will do this. THEY WILL DO THIS. mark my words. As i've said above they tried taking a payment 4 months after I had closed my bank account and had been paying them through CCCS.
THEY WILL TRY TO TAKE FULL PAYMENT FROM YOUR BANK.
Follow SnV's advice on how to deal with Payday loan companies because PaydayUK are, from my experience, the worst of the lot. (Quick Quid, Payday Express have been fine to deal with onmy DMP)
Hiya
Just to add to eyeopeners experience as an example - PaydayUK initially accepted my DMP and after a couple of months passed it onto their internal debt collection arm, despite having this agreement.
I am still making payments in line with my DMP and am not going to be swayed or bullied from doing anything else.
But this doesn't make them unique in their behaviour. AMEX have been obstructive and I have been harrassed by their DCA, even at work and Shop Direct haven't even had the courtesy to acknowledge my offers, and I just continue to get their standard threat-o-grams.
I've had a quick look on your site. I completely understand where you are coming from if you want to set up a forum dedicated to payday loans and there may be some use for it if you can pull together a good forum team with a lot of experience in this area.
As you mentioned yourself (and as I know from personal experience too) the reason why most people approach these lenders is because there is nowhere else to go.
The problem is that if things have got to that stage, unless you really have a cashflow situation where you will (read 100000% for sure) have the money to pay it back at the end of the month, it is highly unlikely these loans will help you, except get you further into debt.
As I mentioned in my previous post, I would have reservations as to the forums overall benefit, if the forum doesn't address the underlying reasons why many people get into debt in the first place.
I'm not trying to put you off, far from it because as far as I'm concerned the more consumer forums out there eductating people the better it is, but I believe that getting out of debt isn't just about addressing one small aspect, but of tackling all the issues.
This doesn't just mean tackling the payday loans in the overall context of the debts someone may have with other creditors but also a debtors relationship and attitude towards money in general.

Looks like i am in for a rough ride with payday uk.
I have looked into a dmp but to be honest although my debts are fairly high i am able to pay these back at a reasonable rate once i have cleared the payday loans.
Thanks to MSE i have reduced all my monthly outgoings as far as possible at the moment.
I agree that payday loans are a place many people turn when they already have financial difficulties, to be honest who would agree to borrow £1000 and a couple of weeks later pay back £1250!!!! unless they were desperate.
My advice to anyone looking into payday loans is stay well clear, it is a slippery slope.
I think a major problem is there seems to be a lack of communication between the lenders. The loans generally don't appear on your credit file so they do not know if someone has taken out more than one loan, whereas traditional lending companies would be able to see if a person is already financially stretched. And yes before someone helpfully points it out it is the borrowers responsibility to act responsibly and not take on many payday loans, but when you are desperate and the pressure starts to build to pay one back you generally end up robbing peter to pay paul using these easily obtainable loans.15/04/10 - Egg £1,450 - BT £6,300 - Halifax £5,000

I don't know about other Pay Day lenders, but PayDayUK claim that they report to CRA's, and that it can help with your credit rating.
Not once have they reported on my credit file, and my loans were all handled well.0 -

My experience is a little different - although my loan has been handled well (ie, I've paid on time & the correct amount) PDUK reported to the CRA in September (first time ever!) but the accounts are now missing from October's reports!
All a bit bizarre.
Last payment is this month, Thank God and I will NEVER, EVER get myself caught up in that trap again!0
