Hi there hope someone may be able to help me??
I've been having problems with my internet and kept getting the message 'internet explorer cannot display the webpage' even though I have a good internet connection.
I phoned my provider - virgin - and they got me to do lots of things including putting the laptop into safe mode (which i'm on at the moment) and hey presto my google homepage appeared!!
So they said it was probably being blocked by my firewall and that I would need get someone to look at it such as pc world.
I phoned pc world and was told that I could either go into a store or be put through to a helpline that charged £1.50 a minute.
I asked how much it would be if I took it in store but he couldn't tell me - does anyone on here know?
He did say it was a 'simple' problem so does any one know what I can do to resolve it without having to take it to pc world?
If it's something that a specialist needs to do then I will take it to a store but if it's something I could easily do myself then that would be great!!
Thanks in advance for any help :-)

Check if it's an addon causing the problem by starting IE without them ( Go to Start / Run and type iexplore -extoff )0
-
as a test also, try another browser such as Firefox -- better off with FF
