  • Now I don't eat Christmas pudding but my dad, who loves the stuff, reckons the older they are the better they taste so he always keeps them in the cupboard for at least a year so this Christmas he'll have the puddings he bought last Christmas!!

    Yeah it'll be fine,

I always buy next years pud in the sales stuff after Crimbo.
Unwrap it, poke some holes into the pud with a kebab stick and pour a slug of Brandy or your fav spirit over, leave to soak. Re-wrap, job done.

Only after the last tree has been cut down. Only after the last fish has been caught. Only after the last river has been poisoned. Only then will you realize that money cannot be eaten.

  • Or you could crumble it up and stir through vanilla ice cream to make a lovely Christmassy ice cream? Solves the issue of it being too dry as well.

I had to serve the years before xmas pud after a disaster with christmas dinner dessert (dont ask) and it was really lovely! the use by was nine months previous - but hey I nuked it well and by the time it was covered in cream it was enjoyed by all - with no repercussions!
  • Thank you all for your replies - we shall be eating it for christmas this year.
