we have a budget of £5 per head for it.the wedding breakfast will be done by the caterers that the venue approve, the venue will not allow anyone else to use the kitchen facilities.
A catered meal for £5 per head? Have you spoke much to the caterer? What will they be willing to provide for that amount. Is the BBQ or baked potato ideas yours or theirs?0 -
Hi,
we are having a fish and chip dinner for our wedding breakfast. There is a kitchen in the hall we are hiring, but we can not use the kitchen unless we use the caterer thats owns it, but with the fish and chips its delvered cooked already and then they take the rubbish etc away with them.
its just from a local fish and chip shop and the highest price is the cod and chips at £4.80, then everything else is cheaper than that.
what time is the wedding?
the bacon sandwiches is a good idea - could have sausages as well, then just would need to get some crisps, dips etc, even with the pizza thing dont have to spend too much to get a good vairety to feed everyone.
hope you can find the best thing for your day!!:heart2:Married my Prince Charming on 15th April 2011 - perfect day!

We had a BBQ for the wedding breakfast and got married 21st October so it is doable - wasn't too cold and the seating area was indoors.
Though for £5 a head ticklepenny's ideas of something like Chilli is a good one. You could do a great chilli with rice, tortillas and dips for under £5 a head.
I went to a lovely wedding in summer where after the ceremony there was an afternoon tea with sandwiches and cakes. The bride's family made the sandwiches and various guests made scones and flapjacks. It was really nice and only cost a couple of pounds an head. For an october wedding doing soup and fresh rolls may be a bit better than sandwiches.0 -
We are having an afternoon tea (sandwiches and cream tea - buffet style but made for us) - it's only costing us £7.50 a head, and my Mum is going to make the cupcakes for the wedding cake. We are having it 1-4pm and not having a disco - just going to create a CD and have it playing in the background.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170

How about just a roast and loads of baps. Dont forget the apple/mint sauce. Have someone carving the roast as people go. Just make sure you do a nut roast or similar for any vegetarians there. This can look more impressive than many buffets. The best bargains are priceless!!!!!!!!!! :T :T :T0

Back to what OP actually asked.
I think that suggestion is fine for wedding breakfast, I went to a wedding last year where there was a BBQ for wedding breakfast, all done indoors and eaten sitting at formal tables for speeches etc. I loved it and so did everyone else.
I have no experience of doing a buffet myself but what facilities do you have for heating up etc as obviously it will all need to have been done in advance.
I also had hot pink and black as my wedding colour scheme, and in my humble opinion it did look very stylish. I had a post box and guest book in hot pink and black which I found on ebay, sweetie jars with hot pink ribbon round them and hot pink paper bags to put the sweeties in, and dried rose buds also from ebay which worked out cheaper than petals. I also had a friend make my place cards and table planner, place cards had hot pink ribbon on and planner had hot pink and black ribbon. I also used tea lights in small glass holders which I had wanted and it turned out the venue already had them so I used theirs for free.0
