fusebox not working
Hi
i had a new bathroom and kitchen installed in May. This included night storage towel rail being removed. Now it has come to winter i have realised that the fusebox for my storage heaters is not working, so i have no heating!:(
does anyone know how much it would cost for an electrician to fix this?
Also, will I have a case for getting the money reinbursed from the company who completed the installation? Can i prove it is their fault?
Also, any suggestions as to what could have occurred.
Any help would be very welcome:)

Have you tried switching the E7 circuit back on?
Are your storage heaters switched on.
Is your radio teleswitch working? That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
thanks for reply
The storage heaters are definetely switched on. I'm a complete girl with these things - what is the e7 switch? as far as i can tell everything is switched on. my dad came to look at it for me and he can't get the fuses out of the fuse box. its really old model, circa 1991 - crabtree sb6000
i also have know idea what the radio teleswitch is!0 -
OK.
Storage heaters are usually controlled by a separate circuit, and will probably have its own fuse box, this would need to be switched on.
The Economy 7 circuit is only live during the low rate period, say 1am to 8am, there is either a radio switch to control this or a mechanical clock.
Is it possible to get in touch with the people who took out the bathroom heater and ask them what they did to isolate the circuit. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Hi
yeah the separate fusebox is defintely on. The only clock is in the airing cupboard, this is for the water, also comes on in the night - this still works. There does not seem to be any clock for the heaters (they worked fine last year without this). My dad reset all the thermal timers in the individual heaters today, so have to see if this will work. Personally, i don't think they will - it is defintely connected to the fusebox (too much of a coincidence that they are all not working)
i think i may have to try to get hold of the person who fitted the bathroom, as it seems the only likely solution to why they are not working now!0 -
The radio teleswitch is a box next to your electric meter that is used to to switch between Economy 7 (low) and Normal (peak) rate times. It's done by a radio signal to cover everyone on Economy 7 tarriffs in a wide area.0

Thanks - found it! it is sealed by the electrcity board and says that is an offence to tamper with it, so this means that this can not be problem
it must be the fuse box0
