Hi Folks
I am booked to fly for the first time with KLM from AMS-BKK in Dec and was wondering if anybody as flown with them and can give me some mini reviews? I am flying eco class and was maybe thinking do they upgrade on the plane per chance? Seems everyone is taking the seats near the front of the a/c.
Thanks

I agree with ilove, they are my preferred airline if I have to sit in the back. The chances of an upgrade are zero, they will upgrade their elites (and those of their partner airlines) before considering anybody else.
The only thing that KLM did not handle well was the volcanic ash debacle, people are still without money now. Hopefully that will not be an issue for you.Gone ... or have I?0 -
I this site may be of interest http://www.airlinequality.com/index.htm although you probably ought to ask the questions before you book0

As has been said, unless you are a frequent flyer with either KLM or a Skyteam partner (eg, Delta, Air France), the chances of an upgrade are marginally above zero.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. I flew with them to Singapore last year.
They overbooked the Amsterdam-Singapore leg of the journey and bumped me off the flight. They put me up in a hotel for the night then flew me to Zurich to connect with a Singapore Airlines flight from there. I eventually got to Singapore 30 hours later than planned.
I was given €600 Euros for my trouble, and another £120 approximately at the other end when they lost my luggage  (which turned up the next day).
That was my first experience of being bumped off a flight, and it caused me a lot of faffing about at airports at ungodly hours, and lost sleep, so was definitely not my favourite journey. But the money helped pacify me (I'm easily bought!

KLM have twice lost my luggage. On some routes, I am told they routinely bump luggage to make room for frieght."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

I've flown with KLM to the states before. I thought they were a very good airline and would definately fly with them again.
They also overbooked on my flight and tried to offer me $600 to go on the next days flight (I said no but should have said yes considering £1 = $1.9!)0
