DHL supposedly delivering laptop?

I`ve ordered a laptop from pc world. They`ve sent me a tracking number for DHL. On the 9th it appereared on the system, I think as being transferred to manchester office. Yesterday on the 10th it said out for delivery from the early morning, at 16.59 it said delivered signed for by Tevlin, but it hadn`t arrived, so I thought it had been stolen, there offices had shut when I phoned but the automatic system said it had been delivered.
I rang them this morning at 8.30 ish to be told it had been delivered and that they`d do a trace and speak to the driver to see if he knew where he had delivered it. I got a call later (10.30 -11)saying they couldn`t contact the driver but they were still looking into and they`d be able to find out more tomorrow. I got a further call later saying it had appeared on the system again as out for delivery at 9.10!?, At the time I was just relieved that it hadn`t been stolen so I didn`t even complian.
I`ve now been expecting it delivered today, after checking in the last hour it hasn`t been delivered and the system is showing "In transit" signed for by null.
What is going on?
What should I do?
Where should I post this?
Thanks

hi, i would'nt pay much notice to DHL's promises of delivering on time,i waited 5 days for a phone to arrive from the Link when they were involved, and only yesterday i sent a parcel through Parcel2Go and DHL turned up for it and even though it was guaranteed next day delivery they still have it in a depot in Leeds i would avoid this company like the plague from now on even though the items eventually do turn up they are never on time0

If it is not delivered by an agreed date, or within 30 days of order if no date was agreed, then you are entitled to a refund. You are not obliged to accept a revised delivery date. If this is the case, then contact PC World and tell them to either send another or refund your money.Don't bother trying to sue me - I've got no money!0

They are hopeless.
Ordered a Pc game from PC World who used DHL to deliver it. It was stuck in transit for 8 days in a depot just 5 mins from my house-4 days of that time it was shown out for delivery!!!!!.
No amount of emails to DHL got it delivered any earlier.
The tracking system just makes it more agonising.
Complained to PC World who said 'sorry but .....'
Just for comparison I had ordered another game same day/time from Blah DVD in Jersey and had it within 2 days!!
I am avoiding ordering anything from PC World as a result.

I received it today, so I'm relieved that it has arrived and that it is the full delivery, rather than just the norton software and no laptop, yet DHL can still claim delivery. All sorts of ideas were running through my head.
I'm now happy although not with DHL, there service is atrocious and by the sounds of it I haven`t done too bad.
I was particularly worried with its supposedly being delivered, I'm now reluctant to deal with them in the future and will avoid them if at all possible. However I don't think I'll avoid a good deal if its being delivered by DHL. So maybe I haven`t learnt a lesson here, although next time I'll pay by credit card (i'll have to get one first) so as to be covered better if it goes missing. This would have seriously reduced my worry this time.
Anyway, Thanks for your comments.

hi guys disregard my earlier post, i knew they were pretty useless but i have just been told by DHL that they have in fact lost my parcel they cannot find it anywhere they can't understand how this has happened etc and that i will have to file a claim for compensation with the max being £100 ,i told them that i want £400 compensation plus my delivery charges refunded as delivery never took place, can anyone advise me on this or on the claim procedure regarding DHL,thanks0

Ignore what they are saying. You have a contract with PC World, not DHL. If DHL have lost the laptop, then that is PC Worlds problem, not yours.
Contact PC world and advise them that the courier has lost it (they may require details and it may take a little bit of time). Tell them you either want a replacement sent or a refund. Under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) regulations, a refusal to do either is unlawful.
If they even give a hint that they refuse, contact Trading Standards (or consumer Direct) for support. PC World are known for their poor customer service. Do not be fobbed off at all, and please keep us updated.
Good luck.Don't bother trying to sue me - I've got no money!0 -
Totally agree with Gyzmo, i cannot understand why people chase up and listen to the courier, it is the company you bought it off that should do that on your behalf, they choose to use DHL and should realise that there are problems. My Shop Is Your Shop0
