I need help from you guys please.
We have just been on holiday and bought an engagement ring. I want to make the proposal special as it won't be a surprise now. I was hoping to come up with some good romantic ideas that where cheap but I'm not getting anywhere really!!
Can you kind people help me out please!!

Where in the country are you??Love is the answer. At least for most of the questions in my heart,
Like why are we here? And where do we go?And how come it's so hard?
It's not always easy,And sometimes life can be deceiving,
I'll tell you one thing, its always better when we're together0 -
What is your gf like? Personally I would hate to be proposed to in public - seriously it's my idea of hell and I would probably throw up with fear!
How about when she is out one night turn off all the lights in the house and light a trail of tea lights which leads to you, in a suit on bended knee in the bedroom with a bottle of champagne on ice?:happylove DD July 2011:happyloveAug 13 [STRIKE]£4235.19[/STRIKE] £2550.00 :cool:0 -
Sorry to burst your bubble but surely if you already have bought the ring together you are engaged!Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

My son in law of 2 months didn't know the area we live in at all until they started going out. He wanted somewhere quiet so I suggested one or 2 , ok 4 or 5, nice places. He decided on The Chevin which is set up high overlooking a small town. Beautiful scenery etc all round them. They went back there with wedding photographer, close friend of bride, and got some engagement shots in the same spot he proposed. Very simple, private romantic, just them. Its a fave spot with them for nice walks now. Do you have favourite places you like to go, Asda doesn't count.;)Nothing Changes if Nothing Changes0

Nah, surely it doesn't count until someone says the words 'will you marry me?' (followed by the word 'yes')Torry_Quine wrote: »Sorry to burst your bubble but surely if you already have bought the ring together you are engaged!
They are engaged to be engaged, I'd say, if they've bought the ring together.
Ideally, you would go for a walk in the snow, and then at a particularly beautiful point in the walk, you would go down on one knee. But, snow is hard to arrange...:rudolf: :rudolf: :rudolf: :rudolf: :rudolf:0 -

Engaged to be engaged, that has to be one of the most ridiculous things I've heard. They bought a ring together ergo they have decided to get married and are engaged.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.

nope... so far they have just bought a pretty ring. Once he gets down on one knee and adds the magic to the ring and she says yes, then it becomes an engagement
But then I'm a romantic. If you aim for the moon if you miss at least you will land among the stars!0 -
Hello all! Thanks for the replies so far!
We are in Cheshire.
And we aren't engaged until I ask her! There has to be some romance in getting engaged even though she knows it will happen soon!0 -
Well said funkygibbon.Nothing Changes if Nothing Changes0

Well I must be old fashioned then. I personally feel that the proposal should be a surprise when one asks the other with or without a ring and can't understand the whole buying a ring first as they aren't going to say no if it was bought together! That's true romance - being brave enough to ask without being sure of the answer.
Saying that I wish Funkygibbon and his girlfriend the very best as they start their life together.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
