bidder with -1 rating

I have someone bidding on an item I am selling with a -1 rating. Is there anything I can do on my account to prevent this buyer bidding further. I really can't bothered chasing someone for payment....

Thanks

  • You can add him/her to your blocked bidders list :D

I'm not sure how to do this though as I'm a relative newbie to ebay and am having troubles of my own with a rogue seller

I'm sure someone will be along with more helpful advice :):o :rotfl:

In My Account - Preferences there is a Buyers Requirement option.
Use this to block bidders with feedback of -1 or less.

or go to help section type in block bidders pick the first sub section and you can add the user id. if you think the item will sell for more than they have bid i wouldnt delete there bid but it will stopping them re bidding. did a similar thing this week, 0% feedback (got nothing against them before i get flamed) bid on my item I sent him/her a message to ask for confirmation that they were happy with my payments terms (ie no paypal) no reply. I blocked further bids then recvd an email saying why you block my bid?... just ignored them.

incidently I'm assuming there previous negs were for non payment?
Listen to what people say, but watch what people what people do!!
  • Hi thanks yes neg was for non payment. I have set up the block but it says it does not affect current bids so hopefully someone will outbid this buyer. Presumably the next time they bid on the item they will be blocked....?
  • Hi, I appreciate your concern that the bidder only has 1 rating, but if you block them how will they ever get their rating any higher? We all start out at 0 and in order to increase our rating we need to make purchases and sales. However, if he has negative comments for non payment etc you could either annotate your item and state that bidders with less that "5" rating or whatever, are exempt from bidding, or annotate stating that items must be paid for within 2 days or somthing. You make the rules on when you require paying. If the buyer does not pay then report them and send a "second chance offer" to the bid below the winning bidder! Hope this helps. I just think it is shame that people with 1 rating are considred "bad", they may have only made one sale or purchase to date.:j

jenny, they haven't got a rating of +1, they are in negative at -1. They need two positives to get to one.

I don't mind newbies, but I will not allow those with a negative score to bid and have my preferences set as HonestJohn suggests.
