Does SAAS support affect eligibility for student loans?

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone could advise me as to whether the receipt of support in the form of payment of travel expenses, notetaker costs, etc for University would affect the eligibility of a student to receive a loan from the Student Loan Company (also known as SAAS here in Scotland). Would the fact that support is already beeing received 'cancel out' the eligibility for a loan for other purposes?
Thanks.
cheers and take care.
Hussein.

I presume you mean support for a student with a disability through the Disabled Students' Allowance? If so, then no, the SLC loan is not affected.
The SAAS (Student Award Agency in Scotland) is not the same as the SLC, by the way. The SAAS does the assessment for financial entitlements, including DSA, whilst the SLC does the paperwork and pays out maintenance and tuition fee loans.

Thanks very much for that. Secondly, could someone point out where the link for the load application is? I'd prefer to do it online, easier than getting someone to help me fill out a printed form, but I can't find the link on their homepage at https://www.saas.gov.uk
Thanks.

The application for the loan is part of the SAAS application form, you really have to complete the whole thing to apply for the loan. Check the FAQ on the SAAS website for a definate answer though.Sometimes i surprise myself by being right.0
