Not the cheapest or most enviromentally friendly but immac stuff does work, would suggest buying the £1 shops hair remover alternative for this job as it's much cheaper. One day I might be more organised...........

How much of each do you put in to the shower hole ?0

Avoid harsh chemicals especially Caustic Soda as it's bad for the environment. It's your choice: I guess chemicals seem effortless.
As soon as I notice the outflow slowing down, I fish around the plughole and often find single strands of hair can pull up a knot of further hair, which doesn't have to be very long to build up: sometimes that is enough.
When I use the plunger, I block the sink or bath overflow so that the air pressure doesn't escape. Every 2-3 plunges lift the plunger on the upstroke so it sucks stuff up, pull steadily at any hair and let the other stuff flow away.
If it clears and the blockage flows away, I check the outside drain to clear any hair balls that collect on the grid. It avoids bathwater overflowing into my, or my neighbours', grounds.0 -
Crochet hook is a brilliant idea!weaving through the chaos...0

yup crochet hook for me, or an old knitting needle and a good wiggle around.Surprising how much get stuck down there.then once it a bit clearer a coupls of dollops of soda bicarb and a good slurp of white vinegar and watch it fizz then leave for ten minutes and pout a boiled kettle of water down, should clear it and darn sight cheaper than a plumber0

Instead of a crochet hook, I have a thinner/sharper metal hook which came from one of those kits for adding highlights to your hair. It's brilliant at catching hold of hair caught in the plughole, although since my two (long haired) daughters moved away from home we've noticed that the drain doesn't get clogged nearly so often!0

I usually just pull it out myself, gross but it's quick (and free) haha!0
