On a small note im sure scottish power will admit that the system also knew that your battery flag was up because your card and the engineers cards pass info both ways ie when you get a top up from the shop info is passed on ie reading and any flags etc .

Every now and again we get a run of battery changes that has been flagged up by suppliers.

ps lots of people now phone in leaks / no gases to get their meter attended to , they shouldnt do it but it happens.Ng / wwu etc will charge your supplier through a pems contract which isnt cheap for your supplier. Not saying everyone should do it quite the oppostie but if you cant get your gas on and its cold etc what can people do?

Oh yes...what fun...you are a gas chap who has already worked maybe 10 hours that day and then some w$nker decides to abuse the emergency service by ringing in at daft o clock to report a gas leak or no gas when in reality, the issue lies with their supplier. what these people dont know is that the poor guy might have to turn out of his bed to go and visit such an idiot. How would they like it? In such a position, the engineer would just walk away and they would be no further forward.
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

If someone with a failed battery or other prepaid meter fault that is the responsibilty of their supplier states there is a gas leak to try an buck the system they will not only will be wasting the time of an emergency service thus putting genuine callers at risk by they will also find they are not better off as they will still be off supply as the emergency engineer will cap meter for safety and not replace battery - it is also an offence to make hoax calls to emergency services so they risk a visit from the police. All calls are recorded so please do not abuse the emergency service and if your supplier does not supply you with an out of hours contact number complain to them and do not rant at the emergency operator.
