Baxi 100/2 HE Plus

We have a five year old Baxi 100/2 HE Plus condensing boiler. The internal fuse has blown. We have not been able to find out exactly what type of fuse we need. The instruction booklet says 3A but does not specify a part number. Have looked at sites such as RS Components (have an account with them) but they have about 30 3amp fuses. The boiler is due for a service at the end of this month but it would be good to have heating and hot water if it is just the fuse that needs replacing.

    Hi.

You would need to find the reason for the fuse blowing.
An internal fuse in the boiler is usually a glass quick blow type.

An internal leak or faulty electrical component will do it.

Bring the service forward, but do say it's not working to whoever you choose.

Get Heat Team in to service/fix it.

They made this crap, let them fix it.

    Problem boiler I'm afraid.
  • Thanks Canucklehead and gas4u.. Gas4u. What boiler would you recommend as I'm sure we will have to replace this one in a few years. We have 13 radiators and 2 power showers.

Hi...your best bet would be to get in RGIs recommended to you by a source you trust to discuss your requirements and quote. Every RGI has preferred brands...my OH fits Viessmann, Remeha and Vaillant.

Best of the best and most efficient at present are the ATAG 'A' series.

Personally I wouldn't fit another Vaillant as long as I have a hole in my proverbial!

One of the worst customer/after sales service of any manufacturer

Thanks gas4 u, When we replace our boiler I will do a lot more research. Last time I think we just left it to the plumber to decide.
