Please can someone help me!!! we have had a letter from our council that we have been overpaid £4000, does anyone know if they go by your end of year amounts? because my husband earned less in 2008/2009? arghhhhhh!!

They go by the figure you give them. If your DH is S/E, some calculate it quarterly, others annually. However you're only going to find out whats going on by contacting them.0

Thanks. no, he is not self employed and we gave them march pay slip which has the end of year amount on. I will go to the office on Monday, love the way they sent it to get delivered on saturday.0

Is it possible you had previously told them an amount he earns per week/month and this has gone up but you didnt notify them. And as a resullt of sending in the year end payslip they have noticed how much he has earned for the year then divided it by 12 to get the monthly figure and compared that to how much you were getting and seen you got too much.0
