:mad:Also, I've only just started looking on here regularly but over the years I have accumulated £250 in Boots advantage card points and needed some cotton face pads so asked the cashier 'please can I pay with my points' she said 'urr, only if you have enough to cover the £2.50' I said 'Yeah I should do' and when she saw how many points I had she shouted 'OHHHHH MYYYYY GOOOODD you have over TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY POUNDS on here' and got all the other sales assistants to come round and was like 'look look, have you ever seen one with that much before?'. She was telling all the people in the queue as well! The funniest thing was when she eventually gave me my card back she said 'you now only have two hundred and forty five pounds of points'.
It was so embarrassing and a good job I wasn't mugged on the way home lol.
OMG! How embarrassing! Boots needs to make it clear to all their staff during training that they do not do that. My face would have been so red and they should not embarrass their customers. I would be avoiding that particular person the next time I visited Boots."For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone."0 -
I have a lot of points on my card too and the local shop ladies just smile and say I should spend them soon..... Very discreet, fortunately!!!:jMini Coops arrived 2011:j0

What I find even more annoying about the staff at my local boots is that when I go to collect an online delivery they ALWAYS open the box, which is addressed to ME. I could have anything in there, it might be a present for the person im shopping with, it might even be something really private which I felt the need to order online to spare my blushes, the staff show no regard for my privacy. I go mental at them everytime.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T

I was told they were not allowed to open the box as addressed to you! Check with head office?0 -
Thanks to Claire21 and Elliemoo for all your information. I went on at 2.30 am today as I was just about to log off when I found your information. Couldn't resist getting my Boots points so worth losing sleep for! I ordered Lancome foundation, lipstick and a box with mascara, kohl stick and biofacial (I think that's what was in the box). I spent £60ish and was getting 3056 points so thought I would try doubling up to see how it worked out so I bought 2 foundations and 2 mascara sets and spent £109.50 and put in the code for 1000 more points for over £100 and it took me to 5036 points. I was pleased with this and confirmed my order so really only costing £59.14 for £109.50 worth of products. My nose was then bothering me and I went back in and chose the same products but also doubled up the lipstick and order came to £128 and my points went up to 7113 so for 6 items instead of 5 items my actual price, at the end of the day would only have been £56.87. Summary: £2.27 less and I would have an extra £18.50 lipstick. Being greedy or good economics? I think good economics if the offers are there to be had. So take your time and play about with your basket contents and codes before you decide you are really happy with your purchase. Well done everyone who has submitted information and remember to go onto the code thread to get your code for over £100 spend to get your further 1000 points. Cheers and happy shopping. :j"For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone."0

Phone customer service - they are NOT allowed to open your order.
They are a delivery pick-up point only. It would be like you collecting a package from the post office and them opening it for you!!
CS told me that they can offer to open it to make it easier to carry - ie put it in carrier bags - and that's it. I've physically put my hand across the tape on the box to stop one SA ripping it open - when I phoned CS while in the store to query this, CS were totally outraged the SA wanted to do that and credited my AC with £20 of points straight away.
