Housing benefit payments stopped?

Hi everyone, I'm in abit of a panic and was hoping that someone could advise.
We are currently receiving jsa & our housing benefit is paid on a four weekly basis in arrears. We had a letter this morning from our housing association saying that our rent is in arrears & to clear it immediately. Our housing benefit should have been paid by now to cover the amount owed. My question is can they just stop housing benefit & not tell us? There hasn't been any change of circumstance and our jsa money is still ok. The only thing that has happened recently is they changed my partners signing day. Could this have affected it?
I'm so frustrated that i can't ring them until Monday to find out whats happened. Has this happened to anyone else?
TIA x

When we suspend a claim, we have to notify you.
It seems odd that your landlord has noticed and you weren't aware which would make me think post may gave gone missing?? If your hb is paid to your landlord they should have been informed as well.
A suspension can happen for a number if reasons so try not to panic just yet. Call the council on Monday and then keep your ha informed
Good luckI currently manage a Housing Benefit service and have been working in Housing / council tax benefit (as was) since 2001.

Thanks for the quick reply, if they have stopped it because something has happened with the claim, will they back pay those four weeks or will they just pay if/when it is sorted out?0

Sometimes if they have been unsucesful in contacting you they would stop it so as you would then contact them?0

A suspension is a temporary measure and if we resume a claim, you'll get that money back.
We suspend claims for a number of reasons, post returned, dwp tell us jsa stopped, notification from ctax etc.
Really hope you get it sorted quickly on MondayI currently manage a Housing Benefit service and have been working in Housing / council tax benefit (as was) since 2001.
