Get it sent by US Postal Service and it should be 17.5% plus £4ish for Royal Mail clearing it through Customs. If you are lucky it might slip through the net. Do not get it sent courier they charge an arm and a leg to clear customs. I reckon all in it will cost you about £37.
  • I bought something on Ebay for $66 .... I did not have to pay any custom charges ...maybe I was just lucky!
I have had brain surgery - sorry if I am a little confused sometimes ;)

I was going to post my own customs night mare....but as you have already go one on the go will add this.....

I bought something ($70) paid nearly same again in postage and knew that even with parcelforce clearance fees etc that whilst not a bargain was Ok.

That was until a bill of nearly 100 pound arrived!!!

I am in limbo at present my parcel is over 100 miles away and is now being recalled to somewhere in in England to be reassessed. I THINK the problem is that the sellers customs label its being read at a completely different value to the actual content value.

I have been told it can take weeks for my parcel to get to the assessment centre and then no doubt it will be checked along with the my paperwork (sent yesterday) . All this for a used item!!

I shall NOT be buying from USA for sometime to come!
