Returning Items to Next

Just a quick heads up guys.

Next are no longer accepting any returns without a valid receipt.
I know the deal in the past was they would issue a refund card if you didn't have a receipt but they are point blank refusing to do this any more.

Hope this helps someone.

Most of the high street stores, Supermarkets, and DIY stores are now doing this. Marks and Spencers have had a real crackdown, if you havent got a receipt I wouldnt even think about taking it back. Most of this is because of the recession, but a friend who works in Marksies told me that at least 20% of the stuff that is returned with out a receipt, is stolen, sometimes they dont even leave the shop with the goods, the thief just picks the items up, then goes straight to customer services, asking for a refund, or exchange, if you have an exchange, you get a till receipt, meaning you can take it back for a refund.

I was planning to take a faulty cardigan back to next tommorow, as the stitching at back has come apart. I bought the cardigan last dec on my next card, will they offer me an exchange or can i request a refund?

They may offer you nothing. Outwith the first 6 months the onus is on the consumer to prove the fault was inherent.

However they may be more than willing to help so always be optimistic. For faulty goods they can offer a repair, replacement or refund (bearing in mind the refund can be partial to reflect use received of the item). You can request one rather than the other but they can refuse if it is disproportionately costly.

Sorry, but this in incorrect. Marks will still take items back without a receipt and you will be given a credit voucher. If you pay for something with a credit voucher and return it, you will be given another credit voucher.
