printing from a smartphone, no wi-fi available - bluetooth?

i want to be able to print pdf/emails/jpg from a smartphone (probably a blackberry, samsung galaxy or nokia 5230), it won't be very often, perhaps a couple of times a month.
i've been told this could be done via a bluetooth enable printer? had a quick look around & it seems mostly HP that are capable at about £150.
there's no landline where the printer will be so no option to go wi-fi. is bluetooth the best option? any known problems with this set-up for what i would want to print?
thanks
edit: just looking at printers again now, would it be possible to just connect the phone & printer via USB? seems too simple to be true?!

Do you have a computer also? Can't you just hook the phone to the computer, download what you want to print, then print from the computer?0

no computer on site, that's why i'm looking at alternatives
after a bit more searching, it would appear pictbridge may be an option, just plug n play & away you go - i've only found 1 phone capable at the mo' (samsung wave) but i've only just started looking. pictbridge printers can be had for about £50 (Epson SX415/Lexmark S405), so this looks like a viable option aswell.
oooh, i do like a challenge! off to surf some more...:cool:0 -
I recently got an all-in-one HPC309g from Tesco....a hundred notes, and it came with a full set of black and white and colour cartridges in the box.
That does bluetooth printing. I've tried it from 3 phones in the household.
Worth a look?0 -

that's a good price for a bluetooth printer, cheapest i'd found up to now was £150.
i'd still be happier paying £50'ish though as the printer will be in a dusty workshop with tradesmen using it. without me there to look after the poor thing, i dread to think how it be treated!

If your new phone has a memory card, many have, even the cheaper ones, pop it into the printer.
Just a suggestion below, not necessarily a recommendation, I see you've already spotted it.

And around £50.Move along, nothing to see.0 -
i hadn't thought of the memory card option, thank you. i presume it's easy enough to copy/move an email/document to the card? bearing in mind this will be a technophobe husband i'll be training here...
