The notice must be sent to the registered keeper of the vehicle within 14 days. If the RK nominates someone else as the driver, they have to send that NIP as soon as reasonably possible.Arrived today - letter dated 21/10/2010. Offence date 9/08/2010. Were you the RK, and have you recently bought the car / changed your address?
I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. We bought the car about a month before and registered it and the V5 came back within a week!'Just because its on the internet don't believe it 100%'. Abraham Lincoln.

Go to pepipoo.com as they have a speeding/nip section and are better able to advise on legal problems

Hi Guys,
Pleas help, totally confused!! Got flashed by a speed camera in London, doing around 40mph over speed limit - ( I know, I know, horrible and silly thing to do and will never do it again), but I have yet to receive anything in the post? I have recived no ticket, court summons, etc. Am I likely to still receive this as think they only have 14 days to get me? Offence was around 6th Oct 2010.
thanks for your help guys x0 -
If you are the RK of the vehicle, and have been for some time, and your address if correct on the V5 doc, then you should have had a NIP by now, if you are going to get one.
However, if you are not the RK or your address is wrong, or you have recently acquired the vehicle, then these could all be reasons for a delay in getting a NIP to you.
If you do receive one, keep the envelope, and come back here for further advice.0 -
Before anyone can answer the important questions you'll need to supply a little more detail: Is the vehicle you were driving/riding registered in your name? Have you recently purchased it or moved home?Coco_Princess wrote: »Hi Guys,

As posted by bargepole above the only requirement is that a NIP is served on the registered keeper within 14 days (and there are exceptions to that rule). No such time limit applies to subsequent NIP's.My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0 -
