Credit Cards - CCJ History

Options
Hello Everyone,

I'm new to this so please accept my apologies if one has seen a similar post. I have a CCJ which was satisfied November last year. I have settled all my outstanding accounts that i have had roughly around two years ago. I have good payment history now and have been for around 3 years approx. I had a loan with Welcome Finance which has been paid off this september (yay!). Nothing that i have is outstanding, i only pay out car insurance now (more yay, also i live at home with parents: yes i know) I recently opened an account with littlewoods with astonishment that they let me have an account with them. :rotfl:

I aim to purchase my own car (drive my dad's car) but i haven't any savings so i'm considering a credit card. Having had a CCJ (satisfied) i'm unsure of any credit card companies that will offer their services. Any help is most welcome and anticipated. :A

Lots of Like,

Priti!

The chances of getting a main stream card are very slim. You may be able to get one of the higher interest rate cards such as Vanquis or capital one, but these are likely to only have a low limit initially and really should be used to improve credit ratings with a view to getting a better card later on. Not really any good to put a car loan on FAR too expensive even if they put your limit high enough.

Best bet is get a card as above to improve credit rating (see the credit building threads) and also save hard as well. You sound as if you have little outgoings so now is the time to build up the savings.

    good luck
