Never done this before - Paying via Paypal in Euros (overseas Ebay site)

Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone has any experience of paying via paypal but in euros?
I am after some perfume which is only sold in Germany and seems to be very difficult to get hold of. I have found it on Ebay Germany for a resonable price and the seller is willing to post to England.
It's a BIN listing, so if I buy it in the normal way and then pay the invoice via paypal, will I be charged an exchange rate? Or will my bank charge me this when it's taken out of the bank account?
I have no idea what the procedure is, so if anyone has any experience and knows how it works I would be very grateful!
