Sainsbury Pet Insurance - Taking DD' on cancelled policy!

Have had pet insurance through Sainsburys for the last year and last month they sent me the renewal. As it was almost 50% higher phoned them up and rejected the renewal and went through Tesco. All sorted I thought. Then I looked at my bank account tonight and have discovered that they have taken the first DD today for the new policy. Will call tomorrow to kindly request my money back - anything else I can do to make them pay?

Well, you will have the 14 day cooling off period to cancel it in even if they have "lost" your request to cancel the policy so cancelling it shouldnt be a problem.
If they arent forthcoming with the money you have the DD guarentee which means if you phone your bank they will instantly refund it and then enter into "discussions" with Sainsburys. It is best to do it the proper route rather than going straight to this as if the bank believes sainsburys are due the money it will be debited out your account again. All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers
