Bing maps - how do you edit your routes?

This is starting to really bug me now.
On Google maps it's obvious how to edit the details of a route on a map that you've generated.

I've been using Bing maps because it offers the OS 1:25,000 maps, which are very useful for what I'm doing.

I can't work out how to edit points on the map.
Twice I've accidently got it to show me the points and as soon as I've started trying to move them then it goes back to the normal view.
I'm trying every combination of clicking and edit options, but there seems to be no logic to how I got it to show the points.

Any ideas?

Google search brings up nothing so far.

I think I've worked it out. It's not obvious.
Zoom out until the entire route is visible.
Then click on the route a few times.
If you're lucky it will then show all the nodes for the route.
You can then click on them and drag them. Right click for extra options.

Update: I had the same issues again today.
I gave up after 10 minutes.

About an hour later I reloaded Bing in a new broswer window and it worked fine.

I think Bing maps is just unreliable.
