I have a relatively new laptop running windows 7, i had been able to download pdf files fine until last week, whenever i clink on one now it trys to load and then i get a message saying internet explorer has stopped working and the site crashes.
Have just installed the latest version of adobe and still same thing happening. I have also tried having adobe already running in the background before clicking on a pdf link and still nothing.
Dont understand how it can just stop working and is really annoying me now. Anyone know what to do????

What I would say is: AR is very unwieldy; try Foxit Reader instead.0

careful with the install; untick any of the toolbars it asks for.0 -
Can you do a system restore back to when it was working? Then if it works again, apply updates individually and check after each one. If something else messed it up, they may all load ok. I seem to recall there was a large batch of updates came through last week though.

IE is trying to open the PDF. Have AR open it. Can you turn off extensions in IE or reload the reader extension. Use google Chrome or Firefox instead. IE is not a good browser to have.0

So if i install Foxit i take it i need to unistall all adobe bits 1st?
Makes me sound really dumb, but how do i unistall IE if i decide to go with firefox? Am by no means a computer novice, but have always just used IE with no real thought!0 -
u can leave adobe intact if u wish to; Foxit will work happily alongside; no need to remove IE; FF will work alongside IE happily enough;) You'll be far off better FF -- esp. with regards to security also .Thank you all : )
