Question about re-assessment

It depends on whether you are paying the full amount or a reduced amount at the moment - lots of people mistakingly believe that once a child comes off the assessment, their payments will halve - but it doesn't work like that! For example, if your notional assessment was £120 based on 2 children (for argument's sake, let's say that the maintenance needed is £130 per week for 2 children and £90 for one), but because of the protected income, you were deemed only able to pay £50 per week, then your payments would not reduce at all, as reducing the maintenance needed would reduce the notional assessment a bit, but as you are paying so much less than this, your payments would stay the same!0

At the moment pay notional assessment plus a few more pounds, as after maintenance needed being taken there is still a few £'s left above protected income level.
Plus a amount off arrears is paid in addition to this.0
