Question about re-assessment

My husband is the NRP....has just recieved reassessment and payment schedule.
Question is.....payment schedule is for next 12 mths, but his daughter will be 16 in April next year.
Can he has a NRP request a reassessment again when she reaches 16....as we believe the carers allowance of maintenance of £32.72 a wk stops when the qualifying child is 16 yrs old?

For now , you don't know if the dependant child will finish their education.
The assesments are for 12 months ahead but do recall when my arrears were finished that a statement included the the change of amount during the 12 months.
Budget for the worst case and don't get to excited about payments ceasing just yet.0 -
When the child turns 16, put in writing a request that carers allowance cease, they may do a re-assessment, which can possibly raise payments (it's it of a risk). Butthe carer element should be removed - you are correct.
MAke sure that you keep a copy of the letter you send, send it recorded delivery and keep Royal Mail barcode/signature from pc as proof they received it0 -
I understand that my step-daughte could and probably is going to FE, but I'm sure when I spoke to the CSA they said the carers allowance in assessment stops at 16 irrelevent, as a child of 16 is classed as no longer requiring this allowance?0

bumping up...to see if anyone can help?0

Skibadee you are correct, it doesn't matter what the child does after 16 the carer element of the assessment is removed - irrespective of their plans/circumstances0

But it doesn't necessarily mean a reduction in payments though.0

Why....How does it work then?0 -
The CSA don't like NRPs to end up paying less money, and find ghost arrears and all sorts of excuses to maintain or increase the payments (judging by some posts on this forum)

Well arrears will be cleared in August next year.....and have no problem in paying same amount to reduce arrears sooner .....if a reassessment deemed less regular maintenance in April....would be happy for the difference between assessment now and then to be taken off arrears....which are SOS arrears.0
