Parking Eye mess up again

Apologies in advance for dodgy reporting and use of four letter f words

Still waiting for Parking Eye to send the court summons! Make my day!

  • Parking Eye ""Own"" the car park? I very much doubt it. If so I'm surprised that B&Q waived it.

Every time a newspaper uses the word 'fine', somebody somewhere punches a kitten in the face.

    I'm sure of it.

This one is a better report if you ignore the f-word again. A rogue clamper being sentenced:

    http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/top-stories/2010/10/24/clamper-boss-on-fraud-rap-115875-22654706/
(Lee Peacock of RCS) 'admitted fraud and harassment and will be sentenced by Brent magistrates on November 2'.

Other clampers have been sentenced for blackmail in the past - but interestingly this is for FRAUD and HARASSMENT. I guess the latter was brought under the Protection from Harassment Act then, the first of many scam clampers and PPCs to fall foul of this law I hope.

It needs Trading Standards to finally wake up and smell the coffee if enough complaints are lodged about PPCs and their pet debt collectors' tactics. Then convictions such as this could sound a death knell for PPCs, surely the fake police-style fines, Notice to Owners and misleading threatograms are 'fraud and harassment' ?

"Mr Hawley said: 'I'm a bit shocked that we lost actually. The thing is, it really will set a precedent for the whole country for wheel clamping now the judge has ruled in this guy's favour."

I find it unsurprising that Mr Hawley lost if that paragraph is actually representative of his thinking.

"Under British Parking Association guidelines - which are not law - a sign should be positioned at the entrance to the car park. This is what District Judge Peter Jolly based his findings on."

    This I like.
