Napster and taking songs off laptop??

I have Napster to go with Napster and i pay a set fee each month to download music to MP3 player and just wanted some advice please.
If i delete the songs from my Napster list and laptop will they stay on my MP3 player or will it delete them off the player as well the next time i sync it up to napster?
im asking as the songs i think have filled my D Drive on laptop so thats why i want to delete them from laptop but have not done so yet as didnt know what would happen to songs on mp3 player.
Any help please many thanks.
