This is why I have insurance. Not to cover the emergencies but to save me having to make that decision should one of my cats become seriously ill.

and just take the utmost care of our cats & hope for the best - like the writer I would have to buy a lottery ticket or have cat pts.
my 2 moggies have a great life: alot of personal attention, good & varied food, regular flea & worming, checkups with annual vaccs - any more no can do. Note: they are indoor cats (mostly) although they do run about the outdoor walkways chasing insects & nibbling on plants etc. They could do alot worse0
