Community group bank account

I've just become treasurer of a community organisation and need to set up a bank account. We need one that can have several names on a cheque book, internet access would be nice, not paying any fees would be vital.

Any suggestions. A&L don't do one...

  • We have a community drama group and bank with Nationwide.
We`ve got 3 signatories, and so far, (we`ve had it for about 3 months), haven`t had any problems. All free too.
it`s useful if you get government funding or grants...only thing is, it takes 7 days for a cheque to clear.
    Hope this helps.

Yes but the Nationwide treasureres account is just a passbook isn't it? IE no chequebook. Other than that it is a good basic account.

Have you tried the co-operative bank?
  • There`s no chequebook, but cheques are issued in the branch if one of the signatories goes in and asks for one to be made out to a specific person (does that make sense?) they will print it out for you there and then.
