Yes, it's true, you can read things into most posts if you try. There HAVE been a few trolls around recently, but I have also seen incidences of people being called a troll, when really they were just expressing an alternative opinion (admittedly in a rather clumsy manner). I try and use smilies to show that I am having a laugh but I'm not sure if it works or not! :)

My Mum & Gran do this too - My Mum will say something, and my Gran will reply, but slightly misunderstanding the question, then because my Mum hasn't got the answer she is expecting she gets frustrated and starts rolling her eyes - so my Gran gets annoyed because she thinks my Mum is thinking 'She's just a batty old woman, what does she know', so she gets a bit stroppy, which sets my Mum off in a strop too, and all the time I just want to shout 'STOPPPPPPPP!!!! It's just a misunderstanding, it didn't need to turn into an argument'. Arrggghhh ;)

And these are people who love each other dearly, so it's no wonder it happens with people who are often complete strangers!

The other thing I do is when reading other poeple's posts, I imagine that they have typed them with a smile on their face. Doesn't seem so aggressive then and they're really having a giggle. I think if everyone did that things would be a lot more friendly. Of course you are still going to get trolls and obnoxious posters......

Otherwise just think of them typing away in their underpants..........that's what I do when I have to speak to someone who is being obnoxious. It stops me being obxious back and making the situation worse.

Sorry to hijack your thread guys, was just after a tiny piece of cake.....and you all gave me a giggle :)

Do you know, I might actually join you! My morning sickness is making eating a bit tricky, but when you said 'lentil soup', my stomach actually went 'Mmmmmm......'. I've got a tin in the cupboard too - hurray!
