Credit Card and PPI

in Credit cards
Hello, i wonder if anyone could give me some advice.
Back in early march this year, i had an accident at work, falling off a ladder and injuring my head and back..at the time of the accident, i was working my redundancy notice. I then got made redundant at the end of march.
I made a claim on my credit card payment protection for sickness cover.
They paid for 3 months, then i had a letter saying, they were awaiting physiotherapy reports, and then another letter saying they had written to my doctor for further information, in the meantime, my credit card company were ringing me constantly, asking me for the money, and everytime i would explain what was going on.
I rang the ppi company today, to see if i could hurry their payment up, but was told my claim was suspended, from 3 months ago, due them reading my medical records, and saw that i had failed the work capability assessment..i explained that i have appealed against it, and im still on employment and support allowance(sickness) benefit, which i believed my cover was for. I was told i would have make a written appeal!
And to top my morning off, the credit card company phoned shortly after, asking for a payment, i explained the situation to them!, but was told we'll phone u wednesday to see if anything has changed, and after that u have 12 days before u get a default, then, i think it was 30 days, before a debt collection agency is brought in..
Anyone know where i stand on a matter like this?
Thanks..
